George French has been running the G-Sport parts brand forever. When that new Odyssey Elementary stem came out, it turns out that George designed it. Odyssey and G-Sport have now started working together. What it entails, you can read right here. George filled us in.What is the current situation now that you are working together with Odyssey?
Well right now it is pretty hectic because for the last couple of months I have been starting work on the new stuff with Odyssey and at the same time trying to keep up with my usual work load. But the announcement means that I can start to dedicate myself more to the design side now.
Did you ever think it would work out this way where you would be doing work for a separate company?
Colin Winkleman has started a bmx parts/components company called Circus. His plan is to make parts that are of the highest quality that is in his power to design and produce. With past experience designing parts for DK, Colin thinks he has a good grasp on what it takes to make some advancements in BMX tech.
Colin: "I also realize that being injured for 6 months now, with the rapid pace of innovation in the industry, it's not entirely possible for me to keep a fresh perspective without being on my bike traveling and seeing all the aspects of bmx I'm usually exposed to on a daily basis.
New PR and Marketing Executive for GBH Ramps
Local company, GBH Engineering Ltd is delighted to introduce the newest member to the team, Lisa Illingworth. As Public Relations and Marketing Executive, Lisa will be shedding light on the world of GBH Ramps.
Lisa has worked for GBH Ramps in an admin role when it was a fledgling company. After obtaining a BA (hons) in Communication at Bournemouth University, she worked in the head office of various lifestyle retailers. Now a few years and numerous skate parks later she has adhered the call to give GBH Ramps a voice in the extreme sports media forum.
Michael de Wit used to live 10 miles from Aarle-Rixtel, our hometown. Together with the Van Boxmeer brothers he got into the BMX/skate thing early. Michael started out with a Minerva bike and made many trips to Aarle-Rixtel to ride together. One year at a contest/party at Ponypark Slagharen, Mike decided to go for the beerbong. Instead of pouring beer in the funnel, it was filled with a litre of Chocolate Milk. If you even wondered where the King of Choq nickname came from, wonder no more.
You might have noticed that FELT is on the FATBMX program this year. We decided to check in at the FELT offices in the USA and caught up with Alan Foster.How are things at Felt?
Alan Foster: Felt is good. We're at the end of January and we're working on '06 product now. As far as team activities are concerned, Scotty Cranmer is staying on the team, which was a fight, and so are Paulie Lange and Scott Walkowiak. Those are our main three guys and we do two grassroots teams, one is a race team out of California and one out of Connecticut. Then we have a flow team with Rob Jensen
The Oakley building in Foothill Ranch is pretty sick. Not that it's a new thing or anything but we thought we'd let you in on a few pics of their facility. Maybe you have not seen it yet.
