The Deconstruction tour is on the road. The first stop kicked off in Herne, Germany with Simon Tabron, Zach Shaw, Matt Fairbairn and Ronnie Remo taking care of the BMX demos.
I arrived early as they were not only desperate for a BMX/Skate MC, but a FMX announcer as well. The first show was on the program for 15:30pm but it rained a bit and the FMX ramp was set up outdoors. No show. The BMX/Skate demo took place indoors with the first show being at 18:00pm after a couple of bands had played.

In March 2003 Martti Kuoppa and Jorge Gomez met up in Malaga (Spain) to practice flatland together. While taking a lunch break at the beach the very first idea joining together as a company came up. And the most obvious name for the company was "Kuoppa Gomez bikes", KGB. Within 2 minutes both, Kuoppa and Gomez made the decision about founding KGB and to leave their current bike sponsors. Now, two years later, we checked in with Viki and Martti on the developments of the KGB brand.
Some time has passed since you started KGB, what products have you been able to put on the market and sell to the KGB fans?

Grab On grips had some unique advertisements going on in the early eighties. The BMX magazine ads showed a comic style ad about the Grab On kid. Going by the drawing style we believe it was Bob Haro who did these comics. Enjoy the flashback.
FreedomBMX Bicycle Motocross magazine issue 62
Number 62 of the German BMX magazine goes a bit international with stories on the Props Megatour (with the German WeThePeople company on board) and also made it to Tallinn for the Pop!Session that took place early January. The Wizzards with flattitude is a flatland jam report and also the Whootall JAM is covered in this issue. You can count on sharp photo's from the hands of Kay Clauberg all over issue 62 including the Gallery section. The German scene has been staying busy in the winter with another jam for park riders in Wuerzburg and a Woozy jam on page 54. Want more flatland? got it. Page 56 has a report of the "Flatland fuer arme, flatland fuer beine" contest. For the rich and the poor, for the arms and the legs, or something. Lowcash is taking care of a flatland how-to on page 58 and Gregor Podlesny is demonstrating the downside whip for the park riders. You can find a bunch of products on page 62 and 64 and a cool article on the Youth of Today (not the band). Video and media reviews. Check. It's one full issue. A must for every BMX-er who speaks German.
